Today I drove Pristine to school. Her school is just about 10 minutes “real” distance by car from our house but if we count the terrible traffic piling up in the main road just a few meters from our apartment building, the short travel could take up to 30 minutes.
We were just halfway when she told me something I didn’t want to hear, especially while waiting eternally for the traffic to clear for us to cross the very busy intersection: “Mom, I wanna go to the toilet…”
Yikes, yikes, yikes!!
I estimated we will not be able to reach in 10 minutes and her face says it all. I couldn’t park the car in the sidewalk because we’re in the middle of the 6 lane road. All I could do was distract her by singing random songs in the radio, pointing out interesting things outside, let her play with my cellphone and pray. Prayed lots!!
I kindly asked her to hold it, if she can and that we’ll do her thing in the school toilet as soon as I fly out the car out that road. She obeyed and as soon as I parked the car, I carried her, ran to her classroom - straight to the toilet. Whew, it was really close!

hapit na, maayo gale, mommy knew all the possible tricks.
ai kalisud sa in-ani na sitwasyon. kalagut pa jud sa trafik.
