13 Things I miss
Thursday 13 January 3rd, 2008
1. Sleeping like there’s no tomorrow, like a night is more than 12 hours.
2. Eating in a cozy restaurant with my husband.
3. Long bath times with scented candles and cool music.
4. Chatting like crazy with 5 different friends simultaeneously, in 3 different languages!
5. Reading CNN from link to link, reading the newspaper from cover to cover.
6. Cross stitching.
7. Watching my recorded episodes of Ally McBeal. I love that show. I miss John Cage.
8. Browsing through amazon page and selecting a great book and reading it.
9. Listening to recent songs.
10. Polishing some of my IT skills like learning Flash and PHP programming.
11. Going to the library sitting, doing nothing, killing away the time.
12. Not having to do anything, no deadlines to beat, no bills to pay and no pressure to succumb to.
13. Not thinking about work and home and kid all at the same time, at the same intensity.

This post just screams at me! These are most of the stuffs I did before and made me feel like I needed a life. Now I have the ‘life’, and I miss the stuffs I did before!

My husband and I make it a real point to have date nights fairly often where we go out to a nice restaurant just the two of us and reconnect.
Could your mom watch Pristine so that you and DH could get some adult time in? It works wonders for your sanity…

Numbers one and two really scream out at me. I don’t know when is the last time I could sleep in like that. There’s always one child poking at me b/c he wants his breakfast.
And a night out with hubby, now there’s a thought… You are sooooo not alone.
Happy TT. Thanks for stopping by!

I used to cross stitch all the time but haven’t in years! I miss doing it. I must have at least 4 in my bag ready to be worked on. I miss sleeping late too!!!!

I miss Ally McBeal too, I loved that show and so did my Dad. He’d get that coughing laugh thing watching it. You sound like one busy Momma! Happy TT!

I miss many of these same things with 3 small kids, but recently I got a hold of a book, put hubby in charge for a few hours and tuned out all the the rest of the noise reading from cover to cover in one sitting. It was amazing and great. I may try this once a year now, lol.

Can you fit some of these things back into your life? That would be my suggestion.
No need to miss everything in there.

I loved John Cage, too. I’m surprised this show has not been picked up for syndication.
Thanks for stopping by my Freaks and Geeks edition.
Happy TT!

But isn’t it all worth it?
January 4th, 2008 at 9:51 am
Well…they grow up and then we can sleep… except we’ll be too busy worrying about them.

Hi Nicholas,
Oh yes it is worth it! I would never have it any other way. I was just trying to come up with a T13 list…:-)
I am having fun being a mom, can’t trade this for longer bath times, etc.
