Extra-loving, on request

I don’t know what’s happening lately. There are no changes with our routine or with the amount of time I spend with her but she is asking for some extra-loving like, “Mom, can you be there downstairs when I get off the bus?” or “Mom, can you pick me up in school instead? Most of my friend’s moms come and pick them up!”

A couple of days back, she woke up really late so I called the bus assistant that they don’t have to pick her up and I will instead, drive my daughter to school. Boy, did that light her face up! I’ve never seen her so excited and wide eyed. She sat beside me, buckled up and said, “turn on the radio mom, Katy Perry might be on”. Hee hee. MTV Princess in the making!

She loved that I was able to take her to school myself. I wish I could do this everyday but my work schedule and the slight traffic on my way back prevented me from doing the morning school rounds. But, I might have to make some arrangements. I loved our morning times before and I miss spending those few minutes with her.
