I rarely fail with cooking. Sorry to disappoint. I may not be the best writer in the world but I had been cooking since I was 10 so that makes me the best cook in the house. He he.

Last night, I had a very sad episode in the kitchen. For the first time in years, I burned my cooking and hey, it was not entirely my fault. The oven was just too hot. The burner control is way out of line, even set to lowest, it was still burning like hell. I missed my convection oven in Japan.

The lasagna box says to place the uncooked lasagna in the pan and top with meat sauce. Ok, done. I was a little skeptical about the ‘uncooked’ part. Then repeat the procedure until the dish is filled. Then bake for 30-35 minutes.

My instinct had been right; I should have cooked the lasagna or even just half-cooked it before putting it in the dish. The lasagna at the bottom of the dish got burned and stuck to the pan (even if I oiled it). Some upper part exposed (uncovered with meat sauce) was crunchy hard. Very depressing.

I practically wasted my home made meat sauce with that! Next time, I will stick with spaghetti or penne and never bake it again!
