fitness blocks

Some forces of nature are against me. I had been working out in the gym for some weeks now and seeing some progress as I step into the weighing scale and onto my clothes. I know, you won’t see the difference when you look at my picture but there is a difference, promise.

These past few days, I had been to meetings with friends and exquisite lunches, all potential diet enemies. Last week, I met a long time friend for lunch, met a bloggy friend on two consecutive days who treated me with good food then yesterday, we were invited for lunch at a posh hotel restaurant (for my husband’s work) that serves authentic Arabian feast. I say feast because the whole course lasted for almost three hours from starters, hot and cold appetizersĀ to the main course, to tea/coffee and dessert!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved all those meetings around good food. It’s just that it is pretty difficult not to touch the food given to you because the best way to annoy people is to tell them what you can and you can’t eat. I was able to pull off the meetings eating consciously and stopping when I felt full and shutting my mouth about diet and my fitness goals. I can’t shut up about it in this blog though!

I worked out everyday except for last Sunday when I went home late. Yesterday when I was ready to sweat it all out, I was greeted by the trainer that two of the treadmills are out of order. What!?

There were so many people in the gym last night there was no way I’ll be able to get on that treadmill. I used the stair master for 25 minutes doing HIIT. I had a good cardio workout and did strength training too.

For the meantime, I hope there will be no more feast my way for a while. On the 24th though, we are invited for a Desert Safari party and the host expects us to eat, eat and eat!
