Our next door neighbor just informed us that they will be visiting us soon! We are so excited. My daughter A adores them so much I was so happy to share the news with her in the following conversation: 

Mom: “Hey A, our former next door neighbor in Japan will visit us here in Dubai soon!”

A: Ignore mom, continues to play…

Mom: “Do you remember them?”

A: (Finally, looking up) “Yes! The one with doggie?”

Mom: “No, the one with doggie is R.”

A: Still trying to recall…“The one with kitty, mommy?”

Mom: “No, no, the kitty mommy is different. Kitty mommy name is M. Our friends who are coming don’t have kitty or doggy.”

A: “Why no doggy or kitty? The one with baby?”

Mom: “No dear, the one with baby is our other neighbor. Our visitors have no doggy, kitty or baby. Do you remember now?”

A: “Ah, I remember!! The one with nothing, mommy?”

Oh dear.
