Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party!

Gray Cee on Mar-7-2008

There a blog party going on at 5 minutes for mom and I am going to join the fun. You can hop in too!

My name is Grace and I am a mom of a wonderful daughter who turned 4 years old last December. I married my college sweetheart whom I met when I was studying in Japan. Before, I never even dreamed of being in an interracial marriage, I even swore to my friends I won’t but I guess destiny has her own rules.

we don't look alike

People say that the babe doesn’t look like me at all but I guess I just have been shortchanged in the DNA battle! She is my daughter, really although I get questioned every time I take her to the park or to the mall and people ask if I am her nanny! What would you do if it happened to you? :-) Maids and live-in nannies are quite common here so, I don’t take it too seriously.

We now live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since last year. Ring a bell? Yes, I am behind the Sandier Pastures blog, if you have been there or blog hopped from there. I keep this separate blog to write more about parenting and being a mom.

Thanks for visiting. I can’t wait to meet you so please leave me a comment so I can blog hop to your place whether you’re hosting the ultimate blog party or not!

lagging behind my blogging schedule

Gray Cee on Feb-11-2008

Notice my absence in this blog? There had been internet access problems at work that hinders me to post anything while I am at the office. I am trying a new blog schedule and so far, I have yet to accommodate time to update this blog regularly. I am not about to ditch this blog completely, don’t worry!

I can’t access the internet at work, so I blog from home (like when I’m writing this post) but only on early mornings when the babe is still asleep. I go home and have dinner then play with her, read her books. She comes first, not the internet no matter how I love it and certainly not blogging. But I will try to find a balance of this all. The sooner, the better I hope!

random interview

Gray Cee on Dec-22-2007

OMG, I am so sorry Robin!! I told you I would love to answer any interview questions you hurl and almost forgot about this! Better late than never, I hope?

1. When you were a young child what did you want to be when you grew up? How close/far from that are you today?
I always wanted to become a stewardess. Having read a lot of national geographic magazines since I was 7, I thought the best way to see these beautiful places around the world was to be on the plane all the time.

Right now, I am so far from being a stewardess as I am stuck to work on the ground. However, I have been on a plane for more than 60 times so I can somehow feel what it is like up there and how hard that job is!

2. If you suddenly discovered a lamp with an actual genie in it, what would your three wishes be and why?
(1) All children in the world be wanted and loved, free from hunger and sickness because children are basically helpless and have no choice once they are born so it would be great if all of them are loved and wanted (no more abortion) and running around healthy.
(2) A body that is forever fit because in reality, this is so hard to achieve so I’ll take the shortcut.
(3) Unlimited amount of money, for obvious reasons.

3. What is the furthest from home you’ve ever been?
To the Netherlands.

4. What is your favorite comfort food? Do you have a recipe to share?

My favorite comfort food would be simply chocolates. The ultimate recipe I still have to get from Lindt. :-)

I’m participating in NaBloPoMo

Gray Cee on Oct-31-2007

NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month is all about blog posting, every day in November. Now, for those of you who do not have any idea about the strict and most of the time, unreasonable internet censorship here in Dubai, it’s time you are informed that I can’t access the NaBloPoMo page along with lots of websites including Flickr, Typepad blogs and Friendster blogs (and many others).

I haven’t read the NaBloPoMo site but the concept is blogging every day so that would mean simply just writing and posting everyday starting tomorrow until the 30th of November, right? I am go with that idea!

Also, I have something to go with my posting everyday. I’ll be also participating in 30 Days of Thanks, so every day for a month, I will be writing something I am thankful about.

This should perk up this new blog baby of mine. So bye October, welcome November!
