Aloha Friday #24

What time does your children/child sleep?

My 4 year old sleeps late these days (my bad). Before, we aimed to be in bed at 8:30 pm to have time allowance for book reading and “bed circus” before sleeping. Right now, I come home between 8-8:30 and we are in bed at 10:00 pm. I make it a point though to make her sleep as early as possible, whenever I can.

She wakes up at 7 am so she still gets at least 8-9 hours of sleep.

Aloha Friday is a weekly posting all in the spirit of fun and relaxation. No heavy, brain-stormed posts, just ask a simple question for readers to answer in the comments. Visit the Aloha Friday HQ @ An Island Life.

  1. Jennifer in OR Said,

Normally, the kids are in bed around 8pm, and get up at 7 a.m. HOWEVER, during summer with late sunshine hours, they go to bed more like 10 p.m. and get up at 8 or 9 a.m. (Like last night - a really late one!)

  2. Jenn Said,

In bed by 8pm, TV off at 9. That’s the ‘usual’ routine, but lately I’ve been slacking. He’s usually asleep by 10 at the latest and, if I let him sleep until he wakes up naturally he usually sleeps until 7:30ish.

  3. Deborah Said,

I don’t have any children yet. So, I am enjoying going to bed when I like and waking when I like…getting as much sleep as I possibly can before I have children. I’ll never forget the advice my brother gave me when he had his first baby…”Sleep when the baby sleeps!”

  4. Cathi Said,

My kids are all grown but when the grandbabies sleepover it’s party time into the wee hours. It has got to change though; I’m getting too old to stay up with little ones after midnight!! Ha

  5. kailani Said,

GG goes to bed at 8:30 pm and BB about 10 am. They both wake up at 6:30 am.

    Sorry I’m visiting so late!
