From what my mother tells me she did all of us, my sisters and I, at 3 months. I am now 31 and haven't worn earrings since I was about 9 but the wholes are still in my ear and they still bug me. My daughter is 3 and I have no plans to get hers done until she is old enough to take car of them herself. If that's at 5-6 or as old as 15 that's fine by me, I just want it to be something that she wants and not what society or someone else wants. Just my opinion.

When she's old enough to take care of it herself. :-)

I didn't get my ears pierced until I was in my early 20s.

I had my ears pierced when I was pretty young, don't remember exactly when. But when my daughter asks and if I feel she is ready for it, I will say ok. I don't know when that will be though.

New here, just reading along and enjoying your site. My babies cried a lot, so we decided not to induce any more crying the necessary. We waited for them to ask. My daughter started asking at 4 years. She ended up being allergic. My 5 yr old son hasn't asked yet-because we all know what that answer will be!

I was 10 when I was finally allowed to have it done. My daughter is 4 and I have wanted to get her done but my husband says NO that she can have them done when she is older. She tells me she wants them done and I buy her clip ons to help her wait out the time until daddy says ok.

Hi Grace,
Interestingly, I had put an age limit for 12 years on my daughter Britt and when my mother had her ears pierced regardless...I removed the earrings and Britt again waited until age 12.
My daughter-in-law told me that my grand daughter would have her ears pierced at three months (after her first innoculations) and to prepare myself. I wasn't happy but to let the kids know I supported them as parents, (wow, long story, sorry) I had two diamonds that had been removed from my ring when it was sized down, made into little earrings for the baby before she was even born. I'm so glad I did and I'm also happy with my grand daughter's little diamond studded ears on her hairless little head! It truly is an individual parents decision though. Good Luck!

I have my daughter's ears pierced at 7 months old. I had it done when I was young as well and I never remembered the pain so I figured I will get it over it. Since your daughter is older now, maybe you can ask if she wants it.

Sorry, no daughters here. But I think, and let me stress THINK, if one of my sons wanted to get his ear (as in singular) pierced, I'd be okay with that.

Again, I THINK I'd be okay with it. lol

I was 12 years old when I was allowed...

I think for Pristine, since it seems to be a cultural thing, maybe anytime now? I don't think it should be up to her, however. She's too young to make such a permanent decision; mom & dad need to decide. :-)
