Aloha Friday #13

alohafriday

Do you have any big plans for Valentine’s day? or it’s just another day for you?

Valentine’s day is just a normal day for me, even before. Nothing special happened to me on Valentine’s day ever so I am used to doing nothing special every 14th of February. Am I normal?

It is pretty much just another day for me…we are usually working and busy…

To stay married a really, really, really long time . . . every day should be Valentine’s Day or at least some semblance of it.

As for celebrating the actual day, it’s just a great excuse to eat chocolate, and what could be wrong with that?

February 14th is just another day here in Israel, though looking at the sudden proliferation of red hearts in the stores I’d guess that the storeowners are trying to bring the holiday in.

I think you are totally normal! We don’t go all our for V-Day. I normally just cook Peter a special dinner. Last year we went out to dinner, only because he was leaving for a two-week business trip.

  5. Sandra totally took the words out of my mouth. Everyday is V-day in our house.

I’ll probably buy myself some chocolates and call it a day. *grin*

We’ll be on a road trip with our daughter-in-law and grandchildren. I’m very big on holidays so yes, somehow Valentine’s day will be special in the hotel room or in the car.

  7. Just another day here… :)

We don’t do much, either. I buy my son a box of chocolate or something (he’s 3), and maybe dh a candy, but we don’t do much. We try to watch a movie together, but in my opinion, V-day has gotten to be much more of a Hallmark holiday.

    Have a good weekend! :)

i’m planning on taking hubby out for a Japanese food for Valentine’s day… as I have always done since we got married.

  10. Dee says:

I’ll try to make it special by having a nice meal and some decorations, but really it won’t be this big romantic thing.

I also have a interview on that day at 2:30…..so I want to be feeling the Love there.

  11. i told dear hubby that i want to go out and eat something good, nothing fancy, just something i didn’t cook. it’s been awhile since we went out, and valentine’s day seems like a nice time to eat out. but usually we stay home.

We’ll probably just do take-out from my favorite restaurant. I did buy heart shaped plates for Girlie Girl’s sake, though.

  13. Deborah says:

This is our first Valentine’s together…we celebrate our first anniversary in a few weeks. My husband will be making his signature dish, Cajun Chicken. I will make some chocolate dessert…candles, music, flowers (I hope)…we will have a LOVELY evening!

  14. Of course you’re normal! :-) Everyone has their style and preference; ours has never been to go all out for Valentine’s Day. But it’s okay for those who do. I would much rather have the small considerations and sweetness in daily life than one giant dose on one particular day.
