how would you interpret this?
It’s Saturday once again and time to go back to work. As I’ve said in my previous posts, I only have one day break every week and it’s a Friday. Ok, I appreciate that tsk, tsk, you shaking your head in pity for me. I work on Saturdays and Sundays when normally, most of the people around the world are having fun outside with their families.
Anyway, no other way but to accept my fate, I got up this morning still reeling from a very bad dream, nightmare if you call it. I dreamed of plane crashes - - with ’s’, that’s plural! And I was in one of the planes that crashed. Whew, gory. First, I saw a plane crashing at the other side of the hill and I ran to look for it. I saw it lying in an empty field and I saw myself calling 911. Huh? I was in the USA at that time? How can that be? I guess so many things highly improbable in real life happen in dreams. Next scene, I was on board a plane about to crash land! I was desperately trying for my life vest and praying at the same time. I can’t believe God would take me this soon!
The plane skidded on the field but did not catch fire, it crash landed on a nearby river and I had to pinch myself to check I was not really dead. I actually survived and got out of the plane with my baggages. What a very unpleasant way to start the work week! When I took the shower this morning, I found a red patch in my arm, the one I pinched in that dream!
Anyone who’d like to help me find the meaning of this dream? (like I really want to know the meaning — it seems so negative!)

I’m not replying to offer an interpretation. To my mind, understanding dreams is more subtle and personal than some stranger saying “That symbolises this…so your dream means that!” I’m responding because I’ve recently been reading a lot about art therapy (and I have made some study of dreamwork in the past also, which has been very useful to me). In the book “Art Heals” by Shaun McNiff, the author discusses dark or distressing images that turn up in our art or dreams, and I was really struck when he said so simply what I really believe. These images don’t come to hurt you. They come to help.
So, rather than causing you to worry about some literal plane-crash, maybe there are reminders there that you don’t always feel ready, that you are moving too fast in some ways in your life. The first one reminded you to call for help. - Do you sometimes hold back from asking for help? Do you wait until there’s a real emergency? Maybe giving some thought to those type of questions would help you find what the message in the dream is for you.
Mainly, I would like to think that you will see these dreams as coming to help rather than to frighten you. I like that you finished with saying “It SEEMS so negative” so you are open to the idea that it may have a positive intent, and that is what I believe.
